George Ingram on Aid Reform: Open Letter to the President

George Ingram, senior vice president and director of public policy at AED, wrote an op-ed in the Huffington Post last month, titled Aid Reform within Reach: Time for the President to Lead. In it, he argues for three actions the President should take to improve efficiency and effectiveness in the way the development is done, thereby restoring U.S. leadership on the fight against global poverty.

The Modernizing Foreign Assistance Network, which Ingram co-chairs, invites the development community to sign its open letter to President Obama calling for the nation’s first-ever Global Development Strategy to guide efforts with a clear roadmap, and also for partnership with Congress to rewrite the existing, Cold War-era Foreign Assistance Act. Now with more than 200 signatures, the letter will be published as a full-page ad in print publications on Thursday.

Staples community activities mirror AED. We have several programs that support educational and enterprise initiatives for young adults nationally and internationally.
