Good ideas build partnerships.

G-FISH builds consensus for effective fisheries. Overfishing had brought the spiny lobster population down by about 35 percent in the past few years in Honduras and Nicaragua as lobster fishers were going into ever deeper waters to find them. Was there a solution?
AED, USAID, and Darden restaurants—owners of Red Lobster and Olive Garden—founded the Global FISH Alliance (“G-FISH”) to share ideas and new ways to foster effective fisheries and aquaculture practices. Through AED’s Scale methodology, all parties in the lobster supply chain were able to come together as partners to find a lasting solution to the problem by determining what changes can enhance the threatened spiny lobster population and help people make a living.
